Kendal’s Sainsbury’s store has been temporarily closed.
The Mint Bridge supermarket was closed due to a serious electrical fault on Monday.
It is understood an electrical fire broke out on the roof, although this has not been confirmed.
The supermarket is set to reopen this morning, Saturday, August 26.
A Sainsbury’s spokesman said: “Our Kendal superstore is temporarily closed while we repair an electrical fault that it experienced earlier this week.
“The power supply is currently being restored and our petrol station has now reopened. We expect to reopen the main store tomorrow morning.
“A small number of products in the store may not be available for a short while after the store reopens while we replenish our stock and carry out some out further repairs.
“We would like to thank our customers in Kendal for their support and patience at this time and we apologise for the inconvenience caused.”
