Egremont Rangers face a Cup final atmosphere at Heworth tomorrow in their National Conference Division One match of the day.
A win would seal promotion back to the Premier Division at the first attempt following last year’s relegation.
Currently lying second in the table this is Egremont’s last scheduled League game and they have a two point lead over Heworth, who are third, but with another fixture to fit in.
Excitement has been building in both camps as you can imagine and the match is being televised on the ourleague platform.
The Rangers tweeted: “A huge game, that has promotion and play-off implications for both sides.
“The return fixture at Gillfoot Park went down to the wire. Everything is set up for a scintillating game of rugby league.”
Egremont, who didn’t play last week, go into the game on the back of a fine 42-6 win at Skilaugh which earned them the Six Again Team of the Week award.
One for the stat men and women – Egremont go into the game having scored more points (680) than anyone else in Division One while Heworth have conceded fewer points (296) than anyone else. Should be a cracker.
Up in the Premier Division Wath Brow are involved in a top four battle at Rochdale Mayfield, who had started the season in top form.
Mayfield now lie third, one point and one place better than the Hornets and both will have one game left after tomorrow.
Defeat will mean they are going to finish fourth in play-off calculations while a win would really put them in the driving seat to finish third.
Kells will be relieved that they have clinched their own Premier Division safety as they face a daunting trip to leaders Hunslet Amateurs who look like finishing the season top of the pile.
The Whitehaven side still have to two games to fit in after tomorrow’s trip to Leeds and can still improve their current position of ninth.
Barrow Island are still fighting for a play-off place in Division Two and face an important home game with Woolston Rovers as up to five teams still have a chance of filling the last two places in the play-offs.
Woolston are just about there with 22 points and two games to play while the Islanders have 19 from the same number of games. Dewsbury Celtic (18) and Normanton Knights (17) are also in contention.
There’s nothing at stake but pride in the Third Division derby between Seaton Rangers and Hensingham, a game that wasn’t played on the original date because of the village carnival.
This is Hensingham’s final game and they have seven points while Seaton, with four points, still have one more game to play after tomorrow.
