Paul Corbishley in action for Qzone

In the First Division of the Carlisle and District Billiards League the bottom two teams met as Qzone visited Buffs A.

These teams finished 3rd and 5th last season, so it’s a huge surprise to see them propping up the rest. Qzone went into the game on six points while Buffs A were on 8.

Qzone got off to a flier, and indeed secured all five frames along with the two bonus points on offer for winning an away game.

There were wins for Ian Pattinson (100-46), Paul Wright (100-36), Giles Finneghan (100-92), Paul Corbishley (100-36) and Chris Forrester (100-62) as they completed the rout – Buffs A 0, Qzone 7.

Other scores: Inter Qzone 5, Denton Holme 1; Annan 0, Southend A 7; Rock A 2, Longtown 5.

In the Second Division, Ex C maintained their 100 per cent record at the expense of the Cons Club.

Peter Douglas and Raymond Middlemore won for the home side, 80-76 and 80-69 respectively.

However the Ex C triplet of David Sanderson (80-51), Stuart Burgess (80-65) and Peter Marsden (80-73) secured the five points for the undefeated side for a final score of Cons 2, Ex C 5.

Other scores: Maggies 1, Qzone Originals 6; Southend 4, Eastriggs 2; Ex B 5, Buffs B 1.
