Penrith will be looking to break their duck in Regional 1 North West when they host Sandbach on Saturday.
Both teams have lost all four opening games of the season but Sandbach have gained one more bonus point (2) than the Cumbrians (1).
Sandbach earned both their points from narrow defeats while Penrith’s came from a four-try effort.
Injuries have been a major hindrance to Penrith’s chances of getting off to a flying start in their new environment.
On the plus side though, they are averaging around 21 points a game while visitors Sandbach have managed about 12 a game.
The difference is in defence where the Cheshire side have conceded 108 points so far while Penrith have shipped 168.
Kendal, by contrast, have started the season in eye-catching fashion with three wins in their four games to lie third in the table.
It’s a big game for them at Mint Bridge when they entertain Rossendale who are a place lower in fourth and just a point behind.
The visitors are also the highest scoring team in the League with 210 points so far.
In Regional 2 North the derby clash between Aspatria and Keswick at Bower Park catches the eye.
It’s the second in a row for Aspatria who were taken all the way last week at Cockermouth before squeezing home 11-10.
Upper Eden suffered their first defeat of the season against leaders Percy Park and have an interesting clash at Middlesbrough. They both have 11 points so far but Boro have the better scoring differential.
Cockermouth will have been encouraged by their performance against Aspatria but face a trip to Northern who are seventh with 10 points from their four games.
The Counties 1 Cumbria week-end gets underway on Friday night at Winters Park where Penrith A take on Wigton.
Top match on Saturday is likely to be at Egremont where the Bleach Green side entertain uneaten League leaders Egremont.
St Benedict’s also have an unbeaten record and entertain Hawcoat Park while the other games are Millom v Keswick A; Windermere v Creighton and Workington v Whitehaven.
