Kendal Town dropped to third in the North West Counties Premier Division after a 2-2 draw at Prestwich Heys.
Afterwards manager Jimmy Marshall said he thought overall it had been a fair result on the night.
“I thought we were the better team on the night but this is a difficult place to come and they are a team around the play-off places.
“The key was that we dominated the first 20 minutes of the second half but didn’t get the third goal which would have made the difference.
“To be fair we only made a couple of half chances in that period. Then they break and a glorious cross-field pass finds the substitute who caused us a fair bit of bother when he came on and he scored.
“That’s the kind of goal we weren’t conceding earlier in the season and it’s happened a bit recently,” said Marshall.
Prestwich had taken an early lead on 11 minutes when Matthew Davies bundled in the opener at the far post.
Then two goals in five minutes turned the game Kendal’s way.
On 24 minutes Steve Yawson ran across the box before feeding Jacob Gregory and he drilled a shot into the bottom corner.
The after 29 minutes a Rob Wilson free-kick was headed back across goal and Martin Grundy was first there for a tap in.
The Prestwich equaliser came on 60 minutes from Rio Clegg.
Kendal are back at home on Saturday against Barnoldswick Town.
