Carlisle United boss Paul Simpson has welcomed the return to action of Ben Barclay.
The former Stockport County defender got an hour in Tuesday night’s EFL Trophy tie against Notts Forest Under-21’s.
Talking to the United official website, Simpson said: “It was good to see him play, he’s another body we can call on.
Ben was always going to come off after 60 minutes because it was his first game back.
“I thought him and Corey Whelan tried to do it properly, and I thought Luke Plange tried to do it properly.
“Callum [Guy] was the same. It was always the plan that him and Mox were going to share the game.
“They’ve all come through that ok and we’ve just got to see how everybody is going into the weekend now.”
United entertain Leyton Orient on Saturday and go into the game just three points behind the Londoners.
The Blues are still just a place above the drop zone but last week’s magnificent win over Bolton means they are just four points off a mid-table berth.
“We have to make sure we follow-up that win at Bolton with another League win on Saturday,” says Simpson.
