The A590 is closed in one direction in South Cumbria following a serious collision this morning.
The incident, involving two HGVs, happened at around 6.15am between the M6 J36 and the A591for Levens, Sizergh.
National Highways said the road was expected to remain closed for several hours.
A man, in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The A590 westbound between junction 36 and Brettargh Holt remains closed while recovery takes place.
