A man has been arrested following the overnight theft of a tractor GPS unit in North Cumbria.
Police arrested a 34-year-old man from Daventry on suspicion of burglary and theft on October 12. He was later released on conditional bail.
The arrest follows the report of a theft, in which a GPS unit was taken from North Cumbrian farm overnight on 10 October.
Police made the arrest as part of a national operation targeting GPS tractor thefts. It involves officers from Lincolnshire Police, Cheshire, Northamptonshire and the National Rural Crime Unit.
Supt Andy Huddleston of the National Rural Crime Unit said: “The response of Cumbria Police’s Rural Crime Unit to the theft of these GPS units has been excellent.
“The operation has been significant in helping tackle the organised crime groups involved in the national theft of this equipment.”
