
A father and daughter had to be rescued after falling 20 feet down a Lake District fell.
Keswick Mountain Rescue were called out on Saturday evening to the pair who after ascending Sharp Edge on Blencathra then walked back down via Hall’s Fell.
The father injured his knee after falling during the descent and the daughter then tried to support him for the rest of the journey down.
But the pair both slipped and fell around 20 feet. The father suffered a minor head injury and felt unable to continue walking. The daughter was not injured.
On arrival, the rescue team splinted the leg injury and stretchered the man down to their vehicle. He was advised to seek further medical checks.
The pair have since confirmed that they are both recovering following the rescue.
It lasted two hours and 50 minutes and involved 18 team members.
