Three Workington Comets riders will contest their final meeting of the season tonight at Birmingham.

The Brummies host the rearrangement of the British Under-19 Final at Perry Barr– where a new name will be added to the list of winners.

The event was initially attempted at the end of June but had to be abandoned after four races due to heavy rain.

But another highly competitive field has been assembled including the Thompson twins Dan and Joe, Scunthorpe’s Nathan Ablitt, and current and recent British Youth 500cc champions Ashton Boughen.

Sam McGurk, Ace Pijper and Luke Harrison will be there flying the flag for the Comets.

British Youth boss Neil Vatcher said: “For a British Under-19 Final this is a fantastic field of riders.

“As often with these age restricted events, the previous winners are now all ineligible due to their age.

“Therefore to me this makes this event even more special as one of the 16 riders is going to be crowned a British Champion for the very first time, and for that rider an evening that will live in their memory for a very long time.”
