In a tight Counties 1 Cumbria game hosts Creighton just edged out Workington 27-26.
Creighton moved to fifth in the table after a deserved bonus point win but it was a very close-run contest all the way through.
Honours were even at half-time 12-12 and almost as close in the second before Creighton got home by the narrowest of margins.
There were outstanding performances from hooker Alastair Middleton and back rowers Josh Gowling and Alex Taylor.
However, Creighton’s hero was speedy winger Joe O’Donnell who crossed for four tries. The other try scorer was full back Keenan Foster with a solitary conversion by George Dudley.
The Workington tries were scored by Rob Scott (2), Pete Fearon and David Wordsworth with three conversions from John McCrickerd.
