Workington Reds boss Danny Grainger has overhauled his squad with five players being allowed to leave.
Argentinian defender Gabriel Rios Newton left earlier in the week and now Grainger has said that Matty Bell, Hayden Tait, Lewis Moore and Connor Hammell have followed.
Hammell actually played for Cleator Moor Celtic in the West Lancashire League last Saturday after impressing with them last season.
Mainly fringe players, Grainger says it is an attempt to find them regular game time elsewhere.
In addition Keelan Leslie has decided to look at other options as he weighs up the next stage of his career.
Leslie was the player most used at Workington, after initially arriving on loan from Carlisle United in Chris Willcock’s reign. He has since made 28 starts and has also been named as a substitute on 48 other occasions.
Reds continue the defence of the Fred Conway County Cup on Tuesday at home to Dearham United (ko 7.45pm) and will rely on their Development squad to get them through.
Grainger said: “Keelan has been in and out of the first team and I was looking at different ways to progress his development and become more sustainable in the side but he has opted to take a different path.
“I cannot thank him enough for his commitment since I returned to the club and wish him all the very best for the future.”
Grainger will now be looking to make further changes to his squad by bringing in new faces for the resumption of League fare at Guiseley next Saturday.
