Two of BBC Radio Cumbria’s best-loved presenters will host their last shows this weekend.
Joe Costin and Paul Braithwaite are leaving the station following a reorganisation of BBC local radio.
Paul, whose last show is on Sunday, has been with the station since it began in 1973. Joe will also host his last show on Sunday.
Other Cumbrian voices including Val Armstrong, Pete Moss, Helen Millican and Darren Milby have already left the station as the BBC consolidates its coverage.
Cumbria’s broadcasts will be shared with Lancashire – and further afield. Cumbria will continue county broadcasts from 6am to 2pm on weekdays, with Mike Zeller at breakfast and Stephanie Finnon mid-morning.
Cumbria will share afternoon content on weekdays from 2pm to 6pm, with an afternoon show from Lancashire. Much of its evening content will be shared across the entire North West from the BBC’s MediaCityUK base, with some shows also being broadcast regionally from Liverpool.
