Veteran half-back Jarrod Sammut is planning one last hurrah in the English game.

The former Workington Town star did not re-sign for Barrow Raiders after last season and will be 37 before the start of next season.

It has been reported that five clubs have expressed an interest in signing the Maltese international for 2024 – one Super League club, two from the Championship and two in League Over the last two years he played 27 times for Barrow and clocked up 20 tries and 45 goals.

Sammut is able to take his time in choosing his destination so new new deal has been confirmed or announced by any of the interested clubs.

He has made 283 senior appearances in the UK game after starting his career in Australia with Penrith Panthers. He has accumulated 1671 points in that time from 175 tries, 482 goals and 11 field goals.

His host of clubs include Wakefield, Bradford, Freatherstone, London Broncos (three times), Widnes and Leigh.

In 2015-16 he played 37 ties for Workington Town scoring 33 tries and 77 goals.

He has been capped 17 times for Malta with 11 tries and 32 goals.
