Workington Reds are waiting for the referee’s report after Saturday’s home game with Morpeth which produced a heated conclusion with two red cards after the final whistle.
Manager Danny Grainger was shown one for his comments to the referee Chris Ellis after the 2-2 draw while Dav Symington was also red-carded after he kicked the ball and it struck the match official.
Grainger said: “I have watched footage of the incident and nothing I saw has changed my opinion. Dav kicked the ball away downfield at the end and the wind caught it and the ball struck the referee.
“As far as any appeal is concerned we will have to see what the referee says in his report and then consider making an appeal. I had no complaints about a second yellow for Joe Bunney, so we will lose him for a game but not happy with the card for Dav.”
Both Bunney and Symington will be available for tomorrow night’s home game with Worksop Town while Grainger will be able to take his place on the sidelines.
Worksop did not play on Saturday, because of the postponement of their game with Marske who are under investigation by the NPL.
