Another manager desperate for the January transfer window to arrive is Swindon Town’s Michael Flynn.
He had just watched his side shut out for the second consecutive week as they went down to a 3-0 home defeat to Barrow.
Flynn feels that Swindon have had a few injuries too many this season and that was making it very difficult for his players to perform.
He told the club website: “The performance has got to be better. For me the injury list has taken its toll and January can’t come quick enough.
“We were down to 11 players but the performance has got to be better, because the players I did pick are better than what they showed.
“I am not here to cry and make excuses about it, I am open and honest about it.
“The injury list has taken its toll as it is a huge ask to ask the same players to play week-in-week-out for 90 minutes.”
The defeat left Swindon 12th in the League Two table while Barrow’s superb unbeaten run has taken them to second in the table, six points behind leaders Stockport County.
It’s a big Christmas for the Bluebirds as they travel to fifth-placed Crewe on Friday and expect a bumper crowd at Holker Street on Boxing Day when they host Stockport.
