Workington have announced the signing of a new overseas amateur for the 2024 Cumbria League season.
Australian Jack White, 24, will arrive in West Cumbria in time for the club’s seasonal opener in the ECB National Cup against Padiham on April 14.
It’s the second year in a row that Workington have gone down the overseas amateur route and were well satisfied with the contributions of Kiwi Davis Mills last season.
Jack is a left- handed top order batsman and slow left arm orthodox bowler who hails from Tasmania and who plays for the North Hobart club.
He has a first-grade top score of 119 not out and has represented Tasmania at age group levels.
Workington Cricket Club said on X, formerly Twitter: “We look forward to meeting Jack and his partner and hope they are made welcome as part of the club and wider community.”
