Cockermouth continue to play with great spirit but without being able to break their duck in the Regional 2 North League.
Despite playing some of their best rugby so far this season they went down to another defeat, beaten 52-13 at home by second-in the table Northern.
Unfortunately the decision making and skill level at times let down the Wasps which meant they weren’t able to capitalise on some great opportunities created.
However they did manage to score a great try from Jake Moore while Spencer Fulton, who was prominent all game, finished well in the second half.
Scrum half Ollie Swain was handed the man of the match award for his lively and consistent performance.
The Wasps are back at home on Saturday when they look to step up and find that little bit extra which can deliver the elusive first win against West Hartlepool.
Meanwhile, a member of the Cockermouth Colts squad, back row forward Finley Reed has made the North of England U18 trials.
The Wasps have a long record of supplying players to this level of rugby and best wishes from the club will follow Finley to the trial.
Head coach Chris Wright said: “Fin is a great example of where talent and hard work gets you.”
