Lake District luxury cocktail bar to open next month

The Rockefeller

A Lake District luxury cocktail bar is set to open next month after a six-figure investment.

Errol’s of Bowness will open underneath The Rockefeller Apartments on Bank Terrace in the town – and will include velvet booths, a marble-top bar and champagne vending machine.

The building has been restored and the vault, which – complete with original vault door and what is believed to be the biggest chandelier in a real bank vault – will house an exquisite private dining and drinking area.

It is due to open in the middle of next month by the Manchester-based Lakes Luxury Club.

Eduard Vasille will be general manager. Eduard has a wealth of experience from national operators like D&D and Soho House, plus local establishments.

Fiona King, of Lakes Luxury Club, said: “Bowness is a hive of activity throughout the year now, not just in high season. This is presenting opportunities to give locals and visitors something unique that you might usually find in London or Manchester in a relaxed Lake District atmosphere.

“There’s a fantastic offering of pubs, cafés and afternoon teas within the local area, but we wanted to bring something new. We’ve steered clear of themes that have been executed well by other businesses – literary references, nature, boating – and leaned into the architectural heritage of our building which used to be a bank.”

“This renovation demonstrates our investment into the area, in which we’ve seen exponential growth within our sector: luxury tourism. We are extremely excited to showcase a little luxury, bringing excellent cocktails and service to both residents and tourists.”
