It’s been a frustrating weekend for three of our main clubs as they were unable to play their League games.
In EFL League Two Barrow should have played at Crawley but the game was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch at Broadfield Stadium.
A referee inspected the pitch on Friday afternoon, and after discussions with the EFL and PGMOL, it was decided that the pitch was in an unplayable condition and the match would be postponed.
Tickets already purchased for this fixture will still be valid for the rearranged fixture but no new date has been announced.
It’s the second week in a row that Barrow have been left kicking their heels as last week’s home game with Bradford City was controversially called off an hour before the scheduled kick-off.
The postponements have seen Barrow drop out of the play-off places but they do have two games now in hand of the four ahead of them.
In the Northern League there was also disappointment for Penrith and Carlisle City.
Penrith were due to travel to West Auckland on Friday night but the game was called off because of a waterlogged pitch.
It was the same for Carlisle City today when their home game with Birtley Town suffered the same fate.
