Kendal Town have bounced back into the North West Counties Premier Division play-off picture.
A 2-1 win at Irlam was their fourth League victory in a row and they are now fifth in the table.
Having started the season in red hot form, topping the table for over a month, the Mintcakes are looking for a big finish too.
They have a massive game tonight at home to seventh-placed Prestwich Heys who are only two points behind with three games in hand.
After goals from James Bailey and Bailey Kenny had given Kendal their hard-earned victory manager Jimmy Marshall gave his assessment.
“We are in a good place at the moment. Although we are not known for our battling qualities I think they’ve shown that in our run of wins.
“I know we like to get the ball down and play but there are games when you have to work and scvrap hard for the points.
“I thought we deserved to win at Irlam, and could have had four or five more goals so in the end Chris Cheetham’s late save was important.
“The last 14 or 15 games we’ve said to the lads if you’re in keep the short with your performances, which is we were unchanged against Irlam.
“It might seem a bit hard on the lads on the bench but I think they appreciate the situation and they are a tight knit group.
“The visit of Prestwich Heys is a massive game as they are one of the teams around us and naturally we want to make sure we come out on top.”
