Workington Comets new young Australian recruit Tate Zischke has been in daily practice at the Northside track since arriving last weekend.
The Queenslander is embarking on his first season in the UK and is determined to make an impression.
He is accompanied by his mother Debbie for the first six weeks and she’s helping him settle into Cumbrian life, which they both describe as lovely and friendly.
Tate will be riding in Denmark and Poland as well this year and although he has no set targets just wants to get better as the season progresses.
“I think the Workington track is awesome, just like my own in Brisbane and I’m looking to score good points here,” he said.
Cumbria Crack’s John Walsh went along to Northside today to watch Tate in action and to talk to him about his speedway background and his hopes for the 2024 season.
