Workington Comets have announced that GT Tyres are to become the ground name sponsor in 2024 and 2025.

GT Tyres, a local tyre fitting firm, recently continued their title partnership with the Comets leading on from a successful 2023 campaign as the 2024 and 2025 Workington Comets title sponsor.

That has now been extended as the Northside Arena will now become the GT Tyres Arena and promoter Andrew Bain is delighted the partnership with GT Tyres extends to 2024 and 2025:

He said: “We are all thrilled that Graeme at GT Tyres has pledged more support to the Comets. I’ve said it before, without Graeme and others like him, the return of the Workington Comets would have only been a dream and it all wouldn’t have been possible.

“The support from GT Tyres has been vital to the rebirth of the Comets. Their support has also been key to the development of the facilities at Northside so it seems perfect that the arena is now named the GT Tyres Arena.”

GT Tyres director, Graeme Thompson said: “GT Tyres are proud of the naming of the GT Tyres Arena, committing our support further to the Comets.”
