Easter Monday is going to provide more than a football match at Borough Park when Workington Reds take on Atherton Collieries.
Reds are making it a full community day with entertainment on and off the pitch.
Club sponsors Cloud Competitions are backing the day and have helped the club provide 500 match tickets for family groups – all free.
They will be available from next Monday, March 18, onwards at the club’s office at Borough Park between 10am and 1pm.
The action on Easter Monday starts at 10am with an under-8s festival on the pitch when some of the latest youngsters to join their clubs can sample the playing surface.
Entries are still available for clubs wanting to enter their teams and applications can be sent to Workington’s vice-chairman by email at Richard.lewthwaite@sky.com – for more information.
There will be musical entertainment in the Tony Hopper Bar from 1pm until 2.45pm from a talented young guitar/vocalist Jackson Jane. There will be more live music after the game from Kristina.
Vice-chairman Lewthwaite said: “We are looking to make it a real family/community day as there will be face painting for the younger ones with an ice cream van in attendance.
“For the older ones there will be a special Prosecco bar – if that’s your tipple.”
