Kendal Town’s six match winning run came to a shuddering halt with a 6-3 defeat at AFC Liverpool last night.
The Mintcakes fell behind after 47 seconds and three times had to come back level to stay in the game.
But in the last ten minutes the hosts scored three times without reply to run out easy winners.
A disappointed manager Jimmy Marshall said: “It was very poor, nowhere near the sort of performance we have been putting up recently.
“We have conceded six goals and I don’t think they had to work very hard for those. We just switched off in key moments and it was naïve and embarrassing.
“If you drop off your performance levels you get smacked in the mouth, and we have been smacked in the mouth good and proper.
“When I made substitutions I could have brought eight or nine off to be replaced. We will have show character now because we have two big games coming up.”
Finley Lynch (2) and Patrick Allington scored the goals for Kendal who had trailed 2-1 at half-time.
Marshall takes his team to third-in-the-table Wythenshawe on Tuesday night and on Saturday they are back at Parkside Road against eighth-in-the-table Lower Breck.
