A West Cumbrian musical stalwart was celebrated at a special concert.
Jackie Eve, who now lives at Newlands Care Home in Workington, was serenaded by youngsters from CH Music Workington, led by Clare Humes.
Jackie has been part of the musical festival for 29 years and Workington and District Amateur Musical Society as business manager.
Jackie, vice chairman of Workington Musical Festival, has worked with the group of children for a very long time when they competed for musical festivals under her watch.
When the children heard that Jackie was ill they organised a concert to celebrate the role she has played in their lives for so long.

Jackie said: “I have watched the parents of these children grow up in the musical group and I used to be a performer myself, doing pantomimes and shows all over.
“Music is my life! The most beautiful part of the performance was when Claire dedicated a song to me, I know she would never do it for everyone as she said, you could feel the love in the room. It was heart melting to see so many people coming to support.”

Jackie was also showered with flowers and gifts by the children.
General manager Kim Whelan said: It is so good to see family members, friends and the community coming together to celebrate one of our residents in such a special way. Days like these are so special.”
