Cleator Moor Celtic scored a dramatic 5-3 home win over Milnthorpe Corinthians in the West Lancashire League Premier Division.
The Corinthians had levelled the game at 3-3 in the 90th minute but Celtic scored twice in added time to record an important victory.
They now face a run of away games, starting on Saturday at Coppull United.
Manager Stuart Shaw was delighted to get the win when it seemed to have slipped from their grasp.
He said: “We started the game brightly and on the front foot and looked like two early goals from Adam Smith and Luke Close was going to make it an easy afternoon for the lads but it turned out to be the complete opposite.
“We took the lead but the last 25 minutes of the first half were not good enough, and not what I expect from my team.
“We dropped our standards, dropped our intensity and stopped playing football which allowed Milnthorpe to gain in confidence and pull a goal back through a penalty just before half time.
“At half time we spoke about getting back on track, focusing on a big second half and the lads went out and started playing football again.

“Our two goal lead was restored through a superb strike from Bradley Rooney bending it round the keeper into the top corner.
“But again sloppy mistakes, switching off at important times of the game, allowed Milnthorpe back into the game. They pulled back two goals, the equaliser being right on the 90th minute and I instantly thought we had thown it away again.
“Fortunately, from the referee’s added-on time, which seemed to go on forever we managed to pull ourselves back up and still wanted to win the game.
“Brilliant work from Ryan Hall played-in Ben McCarron for a one-on-one with the keeper. His shot was saved but ended up back at Ben’s feet and he slotted home.

“Then to seal the victory a typical moment of magic from Ryan Hall, chasing a lost cause saw him bully the defender out of the way, before slipping it through another defender’s legs to slot into the bottom corner.
“That was a massive three points for us as a group and going in the right direction with performances but most of all their attitude as a group to want to win games.”
