A Masters rugby league game with a difference is taking place this Saturday at Maryport.
It’s a very special fundraiser game between the Maryport Masters and the Arlecdon Rams in aid of Parkinson’s West Cumbria.
The match itself will kick off at 1pm at Maryport RL club’s Athletic Ground and afterwards there will be food and entertainment on in the clubhouse, with a special raffle to boost funds.
It will also be a red letter day too for one of the players as Ken Harker reaches the age of 80 and proves you are never too old to play the game.
A Rams spokesman said: “Ken is being presented with his blue shorts to mark the occasions and that is a fantastic achievement.”
There is also a curtain raiser starting at 11-45am when Maryport’s Under-16’s girls team play the Arlecdon Ewes.
