A major Workington road has reopened ahead of schedule after resurfacing work has been completed.
The A597 closed on Monday for the work – causing long tailbacks in the town – and contractors were due to finish tomorrow, Friday April 12.
But Cumberland Council, which co-ordinated the work, said the contractors had finished ahead of schedule and the road opened this afternoon, Thursday April 11.
