Whitehaven have new loanee Brett Bailey in their 20-strong squad to face Batley Bulldogs at the Ortus Rec on Sunday.
The promising young St. Helens forward replaces Dalton Desmond-Walker who was sacked this week by the west Cumbrian club.
George Hill, who has been on loan from Castleford for two weeks, has returned to his Super League club but Jonty Gorley still has Salford’s Nathan Connell on loan and in his squad.
Gorley said: “We’ve heard a lot about young Brett being a promising player at Saints and we are looking forward to working with him.
“As for Batley I have no doubt they are in a false position at the foot of the table. They will have seen our result last week at home to Sheffield and been encouraged by that.
“I will be looking for an improved performance from that Sheffield defeat, getting back to where we were against Swinton and Barrow.”
Whitehaven have announced that there will be a minute’s applause ahead of kick off on Sunday in memory of Andrew McKain, a popular doorman with the club who died suddenly last week-end.
There will also be a bucket collection with all monies raised going to the family to help where it can at this sad time.
The Whitehaven squad is: Ross Ainley, Brett Bailey, Jake Carter, Lucas Castle, Nathan Connell, Rio Corkill, Jamie Doran, Oscar Doran, Will Evans, Edene Gebbie, Guy Graham, Lachlan Hanneghan, Connor Holliday, Ryan King, Jake Maizen, Owen McCarron, James Newton, Joey Romeo, Perry Singleton, Curtis Teare.
