Four games went ahead in the West Cumberland Sunday League but three other fixtures had to be postponed.

Like other Leagues across the county the fixtures are piling-up with the weather having an affect nearly everywhere.

Incredibly the four games produced 34 goals between then with two sides hitting seven goals each and two others netting five.

Most goals came in the Tier One League Cup tie between Moresby Rangers and Northside which the Workington side won 7-3.

Nathan Nowak (3), Harry Watson (2) and Cain Pears (2) scored the Northside goals with Ellis Trotter, James Bell and Jamie Martin netting for Moresby.

Also hitting seven goals were Salterbeck who were too strong for The Sun in a Division One fixture as the men on target were Leon Wharrier (3), Dave Watson (2) and Charlie Shaw (2). Sun’s response came from Thomas Currie and Jay Wilson.

Going nap in the League Cup Tier Two were Thornhill and Deer Orchard.

Thornhill were 5-2 winners against Sun Inn with Aiden Kegg (2), Josh Crowe, Harry Hodgson and Owen Bell notching their goals. Linden Wilson and Richard O’Keefe scored for Sun Inn.

Deer Orchard scored a good 5-3 win at Bluebell as Luke Graham (2), Sam Wright, Luke Jarrison and Milo Cooke found the back of the net. Macauley Sharp (2) and Luke Knowles hit back for Bluebell but it was not enough.

Hopefully some of the outstanding fixtures can be caught-up as the weather relents and there are a number of games planned in mid-week.

Tuesday, April 16th – League Cup Tier Two – Butchers v Sun Inn.

Wednesday, April 17th – Premier Division – Bluebell v Deer Orchard.

Division One – King’s Arms v Flimby; Senhouse v Swan. League Cup Tier One – FC Cosmos v Moresby.

Thursday April 18th – League Cup Tier One – Parkside v Northside.

Division One – Sun Inn v The Sun.

Sunday, April 21st – Premier Division – Moresby v Dearham; Northside v Bluebell; Parkside v FC Cosmos.

League Cup Tier Two – Deer Orchard v Sun Inn; Thornhill v Butchers.

League Cup Tier Three – Seaton v Flimby; Salterbeck v Swan.
