Former footballer Ashley Cain stopped off in Carlisle as he aims to raise £100,000 as part of a mammoth challenge.
The ex-Coventry City player is attempting to travel from Land’s End to John O’Groats three times – a distance of almost 3,000 miles.
He has taken on the Ultraman challenge in memory of his eight-month-old daughter Azaylia, who died from a rare form of leukaemia in April 2021.
The challenge, which includes running, cycling and kayaking, began on April 24, the third anniversary of her death.
Money raised will provide funding for the Azaylia Foundation’s Childhood Cancer PhD Scholarship Programme, which aims to fund PhD research into childhood cancer.
Mr Cain hopes to complete his challenge by the end of July and wants to raise £100,000. Donate at https://gofund.me/79db73cc
