Workington Reds and Whitehaven Amateurs have confirmed the date for their opening friendly.
The traditional first pipe-opener of pre-season will take place on Tuesday, July 2 at the County Ground with a 7pm kick-off.
Once again the two teams will be playing for the Shaun Hocking Memorial Trophy as he was an official of the Whitehaven club and a long-time Reds fan.
The match has been staged since 2011 when Whitehaven won 1-0 but they have only shared it once since then, after the 2018 game was drawn 2-2.
Reds have won all the other games, by as many as 9-0 in 2015 and 10-2 in 2017 with a couple of 3-1’s and last season it finished 5-2.
The only other friendly confirmed so far is the annual game with Carlisle United on Saturday, July 13, kick-off 3pm.
