Cumbria won both games in the NCCA Super 12s to reach finals day of the T20 competition.
They beat Lincolnshire by 22 runs and then followed-up by defeating Herefordshire by six wickets. In between times Herefordshire had beaten Lincolnshire by eight wickets.
But there was a downside to the Cumbria success as influential skipper Michael Slack twisted his knee while fielding and was taken to hospital in Barrow.
It was winner take all when Cumbria faced Herefordshire after both had disposed of Lincolnshire and it was the visitors who opted to bat first.

But they would be disappointed to be bowled-out for 89 in 19.4 overs as both Ed Moulton and Sam Sharp took three wickets apiece. It was especially rewarding for Sharp, who has just moved from Cockermouth to Kendal, as he had never taken a T20 wicket previously.
Moulton removed both openers with just nine on the board, and he clean bowled Nick Hammond for his third wicket.
Sharp took a fine catch off Slack, running round from deep square leg and making a diving catch to get rid of Imaad Mahmood.
George Lavell caught the dangerous Matt Pardoe off Nico Watt and at that point Cumbria lost Slack to an innocuous fielding movement.
Then enter stage left Mr Sharp. No wickets before in T20 and then all of a sudden he had three – a regulation catch at mid-on by Matthew Sempill; a back-pedalling catch for wicket-keeper Finley Richardson and then the icing on the cake to knock back the middle stump of Sam Keeling Wright.

Moulton finished with 3-17 from his four overs while Sharp had 3-19 from 3.4 overs.
Sam Dutton (24 off 12) and Freddie Fallows (16 off 12) got Cumbria moving from the start before Lavelle provided 20 off 19, and although Sempill was run out for nine, Singh (14no) guided Cumbria home on 90-4 off 16.2 overs.
