Workington Reds have announced a major new investment in the club by the locally-based Cloud Competitions.

They have signed a two-year deal which will see substantial investment into the club.

Reds’ vice chairman Richard Lewthwaite said: “We have been very impressed by what we’ve seen from the lads at Cloud when we’ve worked with them over the last year.

“Not only are they three ambitious young local men forging a successful business for themselves, they are going about it in a way that benefits the West Cumbrian community at the same time.

“So much of what we see in them mirrors what we are doing as a club and we really like that. When the opportunity arose to form a stronger link between us it made perfect sense for both parties.”

George Bean, part of the Cloud Competitions team, said: “We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Workington AFC as the main shirt sponsor for the next two seasons.

“At Cloud Competitions, we are dedicated to supporting our local community and helping them achieve their goals. Having this opportunity was only a dream for us when we started in July 2023.

“We are excited to be working with Workington AFC, one of the most established and respected football clubs in our area and beyond. We can’t wait to see our brand on those famous red shirts.”

Lewthwaite added: “The partnership is more than just a brand on a shirt though. We aim to follow up our recent fun day, which Cloud backed, with much more of the same in future as well as driving combined link-ups to benefit charitable organisations locally.

“The first of those already benefiting, is the amazing Andy’s Man Club.

“Everyone at the club is looking forward to building a long lasting relationship which not only benefits both parties but the local community as well.”
