Maryport youngsters set to take over Fibrus Community Stadium

On the day that fans can watch Workington Town for a fiver the Fibrus Community Stadium will host Maryport ARL club.

In fact it is Takeover Day tomorrow, Sunday, June 2, when the Maryport youth set-up showcase their talents to a wider audience.

And Maryport are certainly taking over for the club has over 400 representatives attending – players, parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters and friends.

There will be games taking place from 10am right through to 1.30pm ahead of the main event, Workington Town v Hunslet.

It’s been arranged for Maryport’s Under-6s, 7s, 8s, 9s, 10s, 12s, 14s and 16s to play their weekend fixtures at the Fibrus Community Stadium.

Both Town and Maryport are hoping that as many rugby fans as possible take the opportunity to watch the stars of the future.

The programme is:

  • 10am: Under-14s – Maryport v Cockermouth.
  • 11am: Under-16s – Maryport v Cockermouth.
  • 12.15pm: Under-12s – Maryport v Seaton.
  • 1pm Under-6s Maryport v Hensingham
  • 1pm: Under-7s Maryport v Broughton/Ellenborough
  • 1pm: Under-9s Maryport v Distington
  • 1.30pm: Under-10s Maryport v Broughton
