Rory Feely has signed a new one-year contract with Barrow with an option for a further year.

The Irish defender originally joined the Bluebirds in January 2023 from Bohemian FC, and he went on to make 43 appearances in the next 18 months at the SO Legal Stadium.

Particularly in the second half of the 2023/2024 season, Feely formed a formidable partnership in the Barrow defence which ultimately saw the Bluebirds rank among one of the tightest defences in the division.

Feely also bagged his first Barrow goal in April when he headed home a fine cross away at Doncaster Rovers. His long throw expertise has made him an added attacking weapon for the Bluebirds.

After signing his new deal Feely said: “I’m very excited to be here again as I really enjoyed my last 18 months here and I’m looking forward to another positive year at Holker Street.

“We’ve got a real tight group here so I can’t wait to get back in and push on from last season and go one better.”

Sporting director Iain Wood added: “While the summer transfer window has developed, it became clear to us that Rory still had something unique to offer the squad. So, I’m delighted to see him stay and develop his game further under Stephen [Clemence] and the new look team.”
