Whitehaven will play their Betfred Championship game against Halifax a week on Sunday at The DIY Kitchens Stadium – home of Wakefield Trinity.
The Panthers have been working hard behind the scenes to find an alternative venue for the match following the announcement that The Shay would be unavailable due to pitch maintenance at the start of the month.
The clash on Sunday, June 30 has an earlier kick-off at 1pm due to the anticipated England match in the knockout stages of Euro 2024.
The new venue will see Haven play at the stadium for a league fixture for the first time since March 1998 and will now be the first of two visits this season with the Championship clash against Wakefield still to come.
A spokesman for Whitehaven said: “We thank everyone for their patience for the lack of certainty while this venue has been sought by the Panthers and hope to see as many backing Jonty’s boys next weekend.”
First up though for Gorley’s side is a visit from Dewsbury Rams this Sunday.
