Whitehaven RL recruit young Cumbrian forward on loan

Injury-hit Whitehaven have added to their squad again by recruiting a young Cumbrian forward on loan.

Noah High, 19, is joining for an initial month from Betfred Super League side Warrington Wolves.

The young prop is looking to get his first taste of competitive first team action having previously come through the junior system at Dalton while he also represented Wigan St Jude’s before joining the Wolves in 2021.

Haven head coach Jonty Gorley said: “With losing Dan Hindmarsh back to Castleford, Ashley Kilpatrick got on to his contacts to find us a middle.

“Gary Chambers from Warrington phoned and said he had a young middle that would benefit playing in the Championship.

“So when Noah was offered to us I jumped at the chance to get him in. Hopefully he will use us as a stepping stone, like George Hill did, to push for his Super League spot with Warrington.

“We extend a big thanks to Gary and Warrington for helping us out and make Noah’s loan happen.”

High will come into contention for Sunday’s game at the Ortus REC against Dewsbury Rams.
