A man has been jailed after admitting possessing heroin with intent to supply.
Dale Thomas Graham, 40, of no fixed abode, was sentenced to three years and seven months in prison at Carlisle Crown Court.
Graham was stopped by officers on February 7 this year on Orton Road in Carlisle.
He was found to be in possession of two snap bags containing large quantities of brown powder, over £500 in cash and a mobile phone which was constantly ringing.
The powder later tested positive for heroin.
Detective Constable Lewis Young said: “I am pleased with the result of the sentencing today and hope it acts as a deterrent to those who seek profit from addiction.
“Those who choose to deal drugs in our county have no place within our communities.”
