Excitement is building for the region’s biggest car show next month.
Over 850 cars will be on display at the Cumbria Classic & Motor Sport Show on August 18 at Dalemain Mansion.
Organisers Wigton Motor Club always tweak a few things each year and this year the theme is German and French cars, with special classes for those vehicles.
Over 850 cars have been entered, some 470 individual entries and 380 from 34 different clubs.
New this year is a dog show and a children’s treasure hunt.
The taster autotest will allow exhibitors to have a go a motorsport in the grass test while the Wigton Motor Club display will have a variety of competition cars on show, the star exhibit will be the M Sport Ford Puma that won the 2022 Monte Carlo Rally.
The trade area is again well supported with autojumble, cakes, charities and car related items.
Among the traders is motoring journalist, John Fife, who has covered rallying in Scotland and further afield for over 50 years. He will be selling his new books on the history of the Tour of Mull and the Scottish Rally Championship.
The show is open to the public from 11am until 4pm. Admission is £10 per person and children (under 16) are free.
