A drop-in event to showcase one of the major investment plans for Workington will take place next week.
Work is set to start on the Workington Gateway which involves the key junction at Ramsay Brow and Bridge Street, and improvements to Hall Brow and Hall Park.
The drop-in will happen on Wednesday, August 7, between 10am and 3.30pm at the town’s market in Washington Square.
It is part of a £30 million regeneration for the town.
The Workington Gateway scheme involves:
- Changes to this important access route into Workington and its links to industrial and employment areas
- The widening of Hall Brow, including better parking for residents
- Improvements to pedestrian and cycle routes in and around Hall Park
- The transformation of the West House pottery and walled garden

Leader of Cumberland Council Mark Fryer said: “The Workington Gateway scheme is really gathering pace and will open up some key economic areas of the town.
“It is an interesting time for Workington and I hope this event will give you the chance to find out more and see how your town is developing.”
The initiative has been funded by the Government and is being carried out by Cumberland Council.
