Penrith produced a superb first-half performance on their way to making FA Cup progress at the expense of Pickering Town.
The Bonnyblues booked a place in the preliminary round, another home tie against Crook Town, as they scored all their goals in the 3-0 win in the first-half.
With a decent crowd, an FA Cup atmosphere, and another victory it cemented a very good start to the season by Darren Edmondson’s men who are now three from three.
There were only three minutes on the clock when Penrith got the start they were looking for. Luke Hunter glided past his man and rolled the ball across goal for a simple finish for DJ Taylor.
Keeping up the pressure and playing some good football to go with their hard work Penrith scored again on 19 minutes after some good build-up play.
Martyn Coleman fed Taylor who played the ball out to Hunter on the left. The ball was then worked to Connor Hammell on the edge of the box and he curled a delightful shot into the top corner from 20 yards.
The third goal followed on 27 minutes from a quick counter attack. Taylor went down the right, played the ball across goal and Pickering couldn’t clear as Hunter took advantage to slam the ball home.
Pickering made a number of changes at half-time and were more of a threat in the second-half but Penrith were strong in defence and although they couldn’t add to their tally, were delighted to pick up a clean sheet.
