Guiseley, who host Workington Reds in the first match of the new NPL season on Saturday, have suffered a serious injury blow.
Close season signing Jake Wright has been confirmed as suffering a ruptured ACL and meniscus tear in the fixture against Avro last week.
Wright, 27, had joined in May after previously being with Buxton and had previously been at Boston for four seasons, in which he scored 27 goals over 85 games.
Wright has plenty of National League and National League North experience with York City, Harrogate Town and Gateshead after having been a scholar in the Sheffield United Academy.
He was a pro at Bramall Lane for three years but only played one first team game for the Blades.
The player, who also had a loan spell at Southport, was looking forward to his next assignment with Guiseley when he was hurt in a pre-season friendly.
Guiseley manager Mark Bower said: “We are devastated to lose Jake for the season, but even more so for the player himself. Jake reported back for pre-season in tremendous condition and was looking forward to playing a key role for the team.
“His influence both on and off the pitch will be missed, however we are confident that he has the character to commit himself to his rehab to ensure he makes a full recovery.”
