
Cockermouth’s unbeaten run in the Cumberland County League came to an end at the hands of Unisun Athletic.
Liam Graham and Ellis Dickinson, from the penalty spot, gave Unisun a 2-0 victory and Cockermouth their first league defeat of the campaign.
Champions Maryport Athletic are still unbeaten, however, they could only manage a draw against Wigton Harriers with the fixture ending 2-2. Ciaran Laverty and Ciaran Booty both netted for Maryport and the Wigton goals both came from Richard O’Keefe.
Keswick were 3-2 winners against Whitehaven Miners Social thanks to goals from Charlie Robson (2) and Alfie West while Nathan Walkingshaw and Jamie Thursby provided the goals for Miners.
Aspatria earned a big 5-1 win against Cleator Moor Celtic Reserves with goals from Dan Pearson (2), Sean Law and Malcom Graham. An own goal made up their tally while Bradley Barwise netted for Celtic.
In Division One, a Shane Tyson goal ended Workington Juniors unbeaten run and gave Whitehaven AFC Reserves the 1-0 victory.
Elsewhere, two goal from Jack Brown helped Dearham United to a 2-1 victory against Cockermouth Reserves, who’s goal was provided by Keith Skillen.
Bransty Rangers thrashed Whitehaven Miners Social Development 7-0 with Brandon Tauber (2), Harvey Law (2), Spike Canavan (2) and Lewis McCartney all finding the back of the net for Bransty
There’s only one league fixture next Saturday as Workington Juniors welcome Mirehouse in Division One, kick off 2pm.
