Carlisle United were rocked last night by a second successive home defeat and they stay third bottom in League Two.
This time it was Notts County who proved too good for a United side failing again in front of their own fans.
It was the second under new manager Mike Williamson and the seventh of the season for a Carlisle side struggling to make an impression after their relegation.
It had been a promising enough start for the Blues but they were caught out after 10 minutes with the simplest of goals for the visitors.
Alassana Jatta netted after he got too easily on the end of an Alex Bass goal-kick, which completely evaded Carlisle’s centre-backs. Jatta said thank you very much and went through to score.
Scott Robertson extended their advantage just on the half-hour mark after the outstanding Dan Crowley had carved open Carlisle and Kellan Gordon pulled back a low cross.
Bass, marked down for an assist on the first goal, was a saviour for County after an hour when he managed to get his fingertips to a header from Cameron Harper.
Carlisle had more close calls before the end as Jordan Jones saw his shot cleared off the line while Harper hit the bar, but all to no avail as they slumped to a fourth consecutive home league defeat.
