Jamie Allen will be on his way to the Caribbean next week as Workington say a rare goodbye to a player during the international break.
Allen will be linking up with Montserrat for their two Concacaf Nations League games – back-to-back fixtures with Bonaire. The away leg is on Thursday and the return is on Sunday.
In their first two games Montserrat were beaten 4-1 at home by El Salvador and 2-0 away to St Vincent and are ranked 179th in the world.
New manager Lee Bowyer took over in September 2023 and won his first match in charge, 3-2 against Barbados.
Allen, 29, has played 14 times for Montserrat and is hoping to add to that tally under Bowyer, who was only able to call on five substitutes in the last game with St. Vincent when their rivals had a full 20-strong squad.
Preston-born Allen won his first cap in 2019 and has been recalled to the squad having announced himself fit again after a nagging hamstring problem.

The Workington side which beat Morpeth Town 3-1 in the FA Trophy yesterday actually had two internationals in their line-up – Allen and Efe Ambrose, capped 51 times for Nigeria.
But they were watched at Borough Park by a former English international Peter Beardsley who won 59 caps during an illustrious career.
Beardsley, 63, has twice been linked with the Workington manager’s job and he was visiting with two Carlisle pals, ex-Reds assistant manager Kenny Brown and Colin Carter.
There won’t have been another occasion when three internationals, winning over 120 caps between them were ‘involved’ in a non-League game at Borough Park.
