Cleator Moor Celtic were extremely unlucky to lose their West Lancashire League clash at Eagley 1-0.
For a variety of reasons manager Gareth Agnew was left short on numbers for the trip and two 16-year-olds were included in the starting 11.
It was a game that Celtic should have won, missing the best chance of the first-half and then hitting the woodwork twice after the break.
They also had a goal disallowed and it was a cruel blow when Eagley scored what proved to be the only goal of the game.
The irony was that Cole Collins converted the 78th minute chance which had arrived from a free kick in almost identical circumstances to the one missed by Celtic earlier in the game.
It meant Eagley were able to leapfrog Celtic, and Whitehaven, leaving only Coppull below the two West Cumbrian clubs.
This week Celtic entertain Haslingden St Mary’s who are four points better off in the table.
