A Cumbrian Scout troop is thriving after its relaunch.

Following the success or their young sections, 4th Workington Scout group officially relaunched its Scout Troop in June after it had originally closed just before Covid.

Now four months on, and having grown to 10 Scouts, the group is inspiring even more local young people to dream big and have unmissable experiences, the organisation said.

After spending the summer getting out into the great outdoors, taking part in activities including compass and map reading, sports nights and fire lighting, the Scouts will be taking on their DIY and local history badges as they move into the winter months.

And it wouldn’t be possible without the team of volunteers supporting the young people every step of the way.

Group lead volunteer Yvonne Pilgrim said: “I am proud of all the leaders and helpers at 4th Workington. It has not been easy reopening sections after Covid and providing a weekly programme for the children.”

And 4th Workington is always on the lookout for new adventure seeking adults to join their adventure. To find out more about how to get involved email Yvonne at [email protected]
