Cumbrian duo Carlisle City and Kendal Town have moved quickly to reschedule Saturday’s postponed derby clash at Gillford Park.
They will try again on Tuesday, December 17 in the hope that the weather will play ball.
City won the Northern League clash at Parkside Road 2-1 earlier in the season but their form has fallen away since then as they seem to have reserved their best performances for knock-out matches.
Dan Kirkup’s side have made progress to the third round proper of the FA Vase and will visit Crook Town a week on Saturday (December 7) while they are through to the quarter finals of the Fred Conway County Cup.
Kendal Town, in comparison, have climbed the table since that derby defeat to City and briefly reached a play-off spot before slipping to 10th, but only six points behind Shildon, who are fifth, and Jimmy Marshall’s men have a game in hand.
On Saturday both Cumbrian clubs are back in League action.
Kendal entertain Birtley Town while Carlisle City travel to Guisborough Town – scene of their fine FA Vase first round win by 1-0 in October.
